Shoreham is a village and civil parish in the Sevenoaks District of Kent, England. The parish includes the settlements of Badgers Mount and Well Hill, and is located north of Sevenoaks.

Montessori is a specific teaching method founded by the first female doctor in Italy over 100 years ago, it is renowned throughout the world. The environment requires specific preparation and the teacher must be trained to observe and understand the aims of the classroom and the needs of the children. By definition, the Montessori Philosophy we use in SHOREHAM teaches a progressive curriculum that uses child-directed learning, backed by observation and scientific research, as its core value. Instead of being traditionally taught, children are encouraged to make their own choices in the classroom, with a teacher to guide them along the way.

In England, SHOREHAM CHILDCARE is inspected and regulated by OFSTED (previously this was administered by Local Authority Social Services). CHILDCARE for children under five is split into CHILDCARE on Domestic Premises which is Childminding and Daycare.

A CHILDCARE (also CHILDCARE school, pre-primary school, kindergarten outside the US and UK) is an educational establishment or learning space offering early childhood education to children between the ages of two and five, prior to the commencement of compulsory education at primary school.

CHILDCAREs in England, SHOREHAM follow the Early Learning Goals, set by the Early Years Foundation Stage, for education produced by the Department for Children, Schools and Families which carries on into their first year of school at the age of four and or five. This year of school is usually called Reception. The Early Learning Goals cover the main areas of education without being subject driven. These areas include;

  • Personal, social and emotional development (prime area)
  • Communication and Language (prime area)
  • Physical education (prime area)
  • Literacy (specific area)
  • Mathematics (specific area)
  • Understanding the World (specific area)
  • Expressive Art & Design (specific area)

Our SHOREHAM coverage areas include SHOREHAM CHILDCARE TN14

Our Parents Say

“Both my daughters went to Fawkham Montessori Pre-School and I can’t say enough good things about it; it’s an absolutely fantastic setting for children.

My girls have thrived here and learnt so much; not just reading and writing skills to prepare them for starting school but, more importantly, life skills to help them grow into independent, capable young people.

Every single member of staff is superb and the quality of care is everything you could wish for as a parent. Sam, Laura, Cathy, Abbie, Jo, Kelly, Dani – you are all genuinely wonderful people and we’re so grateful for everything you’ve done in the last few years. You’ve given the girls the best possible start and we think you’re fab!!xx”

Dee Lydon • Parent

“I cannot recommend this pre-school highly enough! In the short time that my daughter has attended her self confidence has soared and her motivation to learn and explore through play has been nurtured and encouraged by the wonderful staff. Thank you so much.”

Pippa Booth • Parent

“Both my daughter and I LOVE this preschool. It is so much more than your usual preschool, it truly inspires and educates our children introducing reading, writing and numeracy in a more advanced way than most of its peers.

My child had had a really awful experience at a different private preschool in Longfield which really affected her. After moving to Montessori her whole perspective of preschool changed. My daughter now loves “school”.

I cannot recommend this preschool highly enough.”

Diane Fisher • Parent

“If I could 6 out of 5 I would! My daughter is thriving in their care and absolutely loves ‘school’. The managers and staff are friendly, caring and professional. Could not be happier with the standard that is being provided.”

Kyla Jade Daly • Parent
